Ibero Youth Services will Host Coat Giveaway

Ibero youth services division will host second annual coat giveaway to help people in need in Rochester (more than 250 individuals benefited last year). Community agencies will also be on hand to provide on-site services related to consumer credit counseling and other areas

People in need will be provided with toiletries, a warm meal, and a gently used coat. Additionally, the goal of the event is to connect individuals with useful services, such as printed credit reports and tips for improving credit score from Consumer Credit Counseling Services. There will also be information on a variety of services such as debt consolidation. Other organizations have been invited to participate.

·         Event: Free Coat Drive

·         Date: Saturday Nov. 21

·         Time: 11am - 2pm

·         Location: School No. 8, 1180 Saint Paul Street, Rochester NY

The coat drive is just one event among many of the initiatives that Ibero is implementing to help families who live in poverty. Along with the coat drive, Ibero has started an English Second Language program and its current bilingual GED program continues to be a success. Saturday’s event is made possible by contributions from: Ibero, UWGR Latino Leadership Development Program Class 14/15, Planet Aid, Center for Youth, El Pilon Criollo, IV4 and Congregation of Yahweh.

Established in 1968, Ibero is a dual-language human services agency that serves individuals and families of all backgrounds. Primary goals: Building stronger families and leading individuals to self-sufficiency.
