Tonight, July 8, 2016, is Latino Night at the Rochester Public Market featuring multiple Latin music groups from the Rochester area. Presented by Bands on the Bricks in parternship with the Puerto Rican Festival, Poder 97.1's very own DJ Johnny Mambo will DJ for part of the night.
La Muralla and AFriKando will also be performing. La Muralla was one of the first salsa bands to form in Rochester, NY in the 1970s. Miguel Rosario founded La Muralla in 1969 with the assistance of lead singer and composer Johnnie Vega. After a long hiatus the band had a reunion and today continues to actively perform. AFriKando is seen as Afro Urban Salsa group popular in the Rochester music scene as well.
Admission to the show is free and begins at 6pm with gates opening at 5:30pm. The Rochester Public Market is located at 280 N. Union Street Rochester, NY.
