Latin radio station Poder 97.1FM has a new host for Saturday afternoons. Anabelle Del Valle is the host of "En Tiempo Real" from noon to 4pm, where Latin pop and rock rule, while incorporating educational pieces and traditional latin music.
Anabelle’s first time on air for Poder 97.1FM actually occurred on February 27, 2016 when she co-hosted a talk-show celebrating the Dominican Republic’s Independence day.
Del Valle received a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish with a concentration in Literature from the College at Brockport and an Associate's Degree in Human Services from Monroe Community College. She currently serves as the full-time Case Manager for Pathstone at the Residents Services Office at Pinnacle Apartments; a building that provides low-income housing for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Her day to day is spent making sure all residents receive the care they need. "I make sure they have food, clothes, make sure they are safe,” she said; ensuring that benefits are not lost and properly used by her residents.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Anabelle came to New York in 2001 to study English, and gained radio experience by working as an anchor for Eugenio Marlin on the show “Latina del Swing”, which at the time aired on Jazz 90.1 FM. Anabelle moved back to the Dominican Republic until 2008, when she moved back to the United States with her family.
Listeners can tune in to “En Tiempo Real” every Saturday, a show where Anabelle spins great music for her listeners, while helps them learn about the different cultures and the artists being played.Del Valle explains, "I want to entertain and bring information to the community via our radio station".
